Special Projects Office branch of Support Services of the Schertz Police Department. The duties involve providing crime prevention and safety resources to the community through programs, presentations, and information. The Special Projects office also serves as a communication source to the community in addressing crime and safety concerns and the development of new/innovative crime prevention and safety initiatives for the community.
Attached to the Support Services Division and reporting directly to Lieutenant Kelly Kallies is the Special Projects Officer, Officer Helen Lafitte. Officer Lafitte is in charge services such as the Citizens Police Academy and Crime Prevention. Officer Lafitte is normally available Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but can adjust her shift to accommodate special groups such as Neighborhood Watch Programs and Home Owners Association meetings.
