U.S. Army Cuts Ribbon for Schertz Medical Home

Schertz Mayor Hal Baldwin (right) and Brig. Gen. Joseph Caravalho Jr., Commander of Southern Regional Medical Command and Brooke Army Medical Center, visit after the ribbon cutting for BAMC's Schertz Medical Home clinic Wednesday, March 16. Caravalho said the 10,000-square-foot Schertz facility near IH-35 and FM 3009 is the sixth of 17 new concept clinics the Army is opening around the nation. Schertz Medical Home, which will serve active duty military members (Army and other branches) in the area, is one of four such clinics in Texas. Caravalho said Schertz was selected because BAMC found more active duty Army families living in ZIP Code 78154 than any other ZIP Code in the San Antonio area.
