Quit Looking Over Your Shoulder!!! Warrant Amnesty through July 11

The Schertz Municipal Court and the Schertz Marshal’s Office will sponsor a warrant amnesty program through July 11, except for weekends and holidays.

The program allows people with outstanding Class C misdemeanor warrants to come to court without fear of arrest and to resolve the warrants. ‘”We are attempting to clear up a backlog and believe this is a good way for people with outstanding warrants to take care of the issue,” said Lt. Steve Pulaski.

The municipal court is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and will have extended hours to 6:00 PM on Wednesdays during the period (except for July 4th.) The court is located at 1400 Schertz Parkway, Bldg. 1.

The Class C misdemeanor warrants are mostly for moving violations but also include code enforcement, parking and health and safety violations. People with warrants can also pay online by going to Schertz.com and go to Municipal Court under the “Departments” listing. “The Municipal Court and Marshal’s Office want to work with folks who have warrants to get the matter cleared up,” Pulaski stressed.

Once the amnesty period ends on July 12, the Marshal’s Office will go back to its regular warrant round up and go to homes and businesses and arrest those with the outstanding warrants. And the department will arrest motorists pulled over for a routine traffic stop if they have an outstanding warrant. For more information call (210) 619-1662, 1663 or 1664.
