City Observes Moment of Silence For 9/11 Victims
The City of Schertz remembered those killed in 9/11 with a Moment of Silence during the Playscape groundbreaking held about 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11.
Mayor Pro Tem George Antuna Jr. called for the observance and quiet moment and asked those at the groundbreaking to reflect on that fateful day in 2001.
“Even as we break ground on this place where children will play and laugh, we remember the special significance of this date and those who perished. This Playscape will have a replica of the State of Liberty as a symbol of the strength of our nation against such attacks,” Antuna said.
The Mayor Pro Tem also called for a 9/11 Moment of Silence during the City Council meeting later Tuesday evening.
