City Council Calls Special Election

Special election

At the September 3 City Council Meeting a Special Election for November 5, 2019 was called for the purpose of electing to fill the unexpired one year term for Councilmember Place 4. 

Any candidate desiring to have his or her name on the Official Ballot shall, no later than Thursday, September 26, 2019, by 5:00 p.m. file with the City Secretary an application in writing in the form prescribed by the Texas Election Code requesting that his or her name be placed on the Official Ballot and declaring themselves as a candidate.

All candidates for office in the City of Schertz must, at the time of filing for office, have attained the age of eighteen or older on the first day of the term of office applied for, be a registered voter of the City of Schertz, and have been a resident of the City for at least twelve consecutive months immediately preceding the deadline for filing for an application for a place on the ballot.
