[ARCHIVED] Citizens Police Academy


The Schertz Police Department’s Citizens Police Academy is a free, 8-week program designed to present awareness and information about the role of Law Enforcement and to increase the rapport between citizens and Police Officers.

The Citizen Police Academy consists of classroom instruction and hands-on learning and is open to those 18 and older. Classes are held once a week on Thursdays from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. Classes will begin on Thursday, February 6 and will run through Thursday, March 26.

  • Simulated firearms training
  • Use of force
  • Laws and City ordinances
  • Traffic stops
  • Criminal investigations and procedures
