Schertz Fire / Rescue services include: Fire suppression, fire education, fire prevention, inspections, technical rescue, swift water rescue,advanced life support, and hazardous materials response.

We currently have 32 full-time paid fire fighters. Our equipment includes: 1 100’ aerial, 2 Class "A" engines, 2 Reserve Engines, 1 support vehicle, 2 brush trucks, 1 command vehicle, 4 staff vehicles, 1 rescue trailer, 1 Haz-Mat trailer, and 1 Fire safety house.

We serve approximately 35,000 citizens and the coverage area is 34 square miles, 27 square miles within the city limits.
