Public Safety

The Schertz Health and Public Safety Division helps families and individuals stay safe and informed about food, drugs, medical devices, violence prevention, and more.

Neighborhood Services

The Neighborhood Services Division provides education and enforcement services to the public in order to minimize environmental and consumer health hazards. This is achieved through the promotion of public health and safety best practices in accordance with local and state ordinances, rules, and laws. The department seeks to protect the City of Schertz through the investigating and abatement of the following: trash, rubbish, debris, junked vehicles, overgrown weeds/grass, and unmaintained pools. The department also conducts routine inspections for all food establishments, all public and semi-public aquatic facilities, and responds to citizen complaints concerning a variety of public health/quality-of-life concerns.
