Community Health

Our Community Health Department offers a variety of different services to the citizens of all of the communities that we serve. From Child Safety Seat Inspections to CPR/First Aid courses, we are always interested in helping keep our citizens safe and trained to respond to emergencies. 

Tyler began his career with Schertz EMS in November of 2016 as a field Paramedic. Tyler was promoted to the MIH Paramedic and is now the Community Health Coordinator since December 2018. Prior to his career with Schertz EMS Tyler was a Firefighter for the Bracken Fire Department where he started volunteering in 2004 and was hired as a paid Firefighter in 2007. Tyler obtained his Paramedic certification and was promoted to a Lieutenant in 2014. Tyler still works at Bracken Fire Department as a part-time Firefighter/Paramedic. Tyler has his Associate of Applied Science - Paramedic degree and is looking to continue his undergraduate in Public Health at the University of Texas at San Antonio. Tyler is married to his beautiful wife Kelly, and they have two children Easton and Ella.

Amy began her career with the City of Schertz EMS in March of 2019, as a field Paramedic. Amy was promoted to the MIH Paramedic position in February of 2021. Prior to her career at Schertz EMS, Amy worked for 7 years in Austin at a Level 2 Trauma Hospital in the Emergency Department. Amy is originally from Washington State where she worked at a level 1 Trauma Hospital Emergency department in Spokane. Amy obtained her Paramedic License from Austin Community College in May of 2018 and is finishing her AAS Degree in Emergency Medicine. Amy enjoys traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.
