Lost and Found Items Policy

Any personal belongings left at Schertz Public Library by the public will be held in storage for 90 days in an attempt to reunite the item with its owner. After 90 days, lost items will be discarded or donated. Cash will be recorded as a donation to the Library. The Library reserves the right to immediately discard, donate or destroy items that pose a health hazard, are perishable, or require storage space larger than the Library’s available storage space. 

The Library will attempt to return library materials that belong to other libraries or schools, either through contacting the owner, dropping items off to facilities within a reasonable distance, or returning the items through our courier system. Any materials that cannot be returned or are not picked up by the owner within 90 days will be donated to the Read Before Book Store.
