Graffiti Prevention and Clean Up
The City’s Graffiti Abatement Program (GAP) works to rid the city of graffiti and keep Schertz a beautiful place to live. The GAP works with other city departments and non-city agencies to abate and prevent graffiti on properties and infrastructure. Reports can be made anonymously.

Property owners who have been victimized should follow the 3 R’s:
- Record. Take photos and measurements for documentation you may need for insurance purposes and police reports.
- Report. Report to the police non-emergency phone (210) 619-1200.
- Remove. Removal of graffiti within 48 hours will deter more graffiti. If you are a victim of graffiti and need assistance in removing it contact the appropriate department.
Property owners are encouraged to sign a consent form/waiver to allow the city to remove or paint over graffiti tags that occur on their property, free of charge.
Graffiti found on these properties should be reported to the City:
- City Parks (Dog Park, Pools, Natural Areas)
- Drainage Ditch/Culvert
- Traffic Signals
- City-Owned Facilities
- Residence
- Business
- Billboards
