[ARCHIVED] Coyotes in Schertz

Residents should be aware that coyotes have been seen around the Schertz area recently. Coyotes are a natural part of this region’s environment but typically reside in less-populated areas to avoid contact with people. If you see coyotes in your yard, make loud noises with pots and pans, yell, blow a horn and haze the coyote with a water hose. Never run from a coyote; make yourself present with loud noises and calmly leave the area. If you encounter an aggressive or rabid coyote, call 911. For any questions or concerns please call Schertz Animal Services at (210) 619-1550.
