[ARCHIVED] Questions About Your Water Bill?

High water bills have been experienced in August and September during periods of extreme heat. The City is currently working with residents to try and determine the reason for the high bills. We thank you for your patience and we believe the cooler Fall weather will cause water bills to return to normal levels.

If you have questions or a complaint about your water bill, contact the Utility Billing office at (210) 619-1100 or email businessoffice@schertz.com. If this does not resolve the issue, please forward your question or complaint to Assistant City Managers Brian James or Charles Kelm, or City Manager Mark Browne.

Monitor Your Water Usage

Check Your Irrigation System 

  • Check your timer settings to make sure they haven’t changed from the last time it was used. Sometimes during power outages, the timers can be reset to factory settings and may be coming on more than planned.
  • Check for leaks in the pipes or for busted heads.

Understand water rate structure

  • The City uses a tiered water consumption rate structure which charges you more, the more water you use (higher usage equals higher base rate).
  • View the water rate structure.
