On November 12, City Council awarded a construction contract to D & S Concrete Contractors for the reconstruction of part of Tri-County Parkway. D & S Concrete Contractors planned to get started on the project on January 13, 2020, but this start date has been delayed. We will provide an update on the scheduled road closure as soon as delivery has been confirmed, but at a minimum, the closure will be delayed until Wednesday (1/15/2020) morning. Tri-County Parkway from the I-35 Frontage road to Corridor Parkway will be reconstructed with a concrete pavement section. Concrete pavement is needed due to heavy traffic, particularly with larger trucks on this section of the roadway, and the drainage in the area. In order to minimize the length of construction, the entire section of the road will be closed; however, the longest anticipated closure should only be 30 calendar days. A small portion of Corridor Parkway at the intersection with Tri-County Parkway will also be reconstructed into a new concrete pavement section. This work will be completed with the reconstruction of Tri-County Parkway.
