Over the next couple of months, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT)’s contractor, Clark Construction, will be performing base repairs and mill and overlay work on FM 3009 from west of FM 2252 (in Garden Ridge), through the intersection of IH 35, to FM 78. They will begin setting up traffic control and moving equipment to the site on Friday, May 22. Base repairs will begin Tuesday, May 26, and are expected to take approximately 12 days. When base repair is complete, the entire paved length and width of FM 3009 along the project stretch will be milled and overlayed with new asphalt. This is expected to take approximately 40 days. Striping and cleanup will continue after that for several weeks.
During construction, there will be alternating lane closures. Traffic will be directed by signage, flag persons, and pilot vehicles. Construction is planned to be limited to Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Update June 12
Monday, June 15 until Friday, June 19. 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Westbound right lane closure from FM 78 to I-35 for pavement work.
Update June 5
Pavement repair work is planned to occur on FM 3009 between 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. June 8 through June 12. Expected operations are as follows:
- Monday to Thursday: Between FM 2252 and Tri-County Parkway – expect alternating lane closures
- Friday: Intersection paving operations to begin westbound from FM 78 to Elbel Road
