The Schertz 4th of July Jubilee celebration will be like no other in recent years. COVID-19 has changed how we gather to celebrate, but it will not keep us from celebrating!
**There will be no activities or gatherings at Pickrell Park**
Families are invited to picnic and play in their backyards, get creative with their decorating skills, and find the perfect viewing spot for a spectacular fireworks show close to their neighborhood.
To ensure the safety of participants, spectators, and staff, we are bringing the parade to the people! Mayor and Council, City Departments, and staff will drive decorated vehicles through Schertz neighborhoods. More details and parade route to come.
We invite you to celebrate in your home and watch the show from the comfort of your driveway or backyard. Firework will be launched at Hilltop Park (undeveloped park property near Northcliffe), Schertz Soccer Complex, and Rhine Valley Park, so no matter where you reside, you will be able to enjoy the show! Fireworks will begin at 9:15 p.m. and will last approximately 10 minutes. Fireworks will also be live-streamed via Facebook Live.
Also to celebrate the 4th of July this year, Schertz Parks & Recreation invites you to show your patriotic spirit by participating in their new Patriotic T-shirt Decorating Contest and Patriotic Chalk Drawing Contest! Dust off your creative side and decorating skills and take part in this 4th of July Jubilee celebration by creating one of three t-shirt designs. Shirts are pre-order only, and the deadline to order is Friday, June 12. Show your patriotic spirit by decorating your driveway or sidewalk in chalk art. Gather the family on the 4th for this fun contest open to all ages and skill levels. Go to Schertz.com for details on how to enter and judging information.
