[ARCHIVED] AAMPO Needs Your Input!


The Alamo Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (AAMPO) is seeking your input from June 1 to 27 as they develop two transportation plans!

Your feedback will help them identify what is most important when it comes to our future transportation system. It will also help prioritize projects to award federal transportation funding.

Here's a step-by-step guide to participating.


What is the TIP and MTP?

Get to know the MPO’s two transportation plans, the TIP and the MTP, with this fact sheet.

Review projects submitted

See the 68 projects that were submitted for funding during the MPO’s competitive project call. You can review these on the project brochure or interactive map.


At, click 'Input' to participate. Use the fill-in-the-blank story format to:

1) Tell them about your ideal transportation system

Prompts are provided, and you fill in the blanks! (Don’t worry. You can change your words on your next screen.)

2) Revise the transportation tale your words generated

Put your serious hat on and update the editable spaces with honest answers about your ideal transportation system.

3) Pick the projects you’d like to see funded

Next, it's time to consider your vision in real-time! There are 68 proposed transportation projects. Select 4 projects you feel would benefit our community.

Join the AAMPO on Tuesday, June 15 at 6 p.m. for a virtual public meeting. Hear a presentation from staff, submit your input and review feedback already received. Just go to to connect to the meeting or watch live on Facebook.

Can't make it? Your can submit your input anytime through June 27.

How is my input used?

Results from this public input period will be shared with the MPO's Transportation Policy Board, Technical Advisory Committee and Bicycle and Pedestrian Mobility Advisory Committees.

The Transportation Policy Board ultimately selects the projects for funding. Public input is one of the considerations during project selection. Others include project technical scores, agency priority and project readiness.

Selected projects will be added to the MPO's short-range transportation plan (TIP), now under development for fiscal years 2023 through 2026.

Public input is also used to develop the MPO's long-range transportation plan (MTP). The transportation visions you submit will help inform the vision, goals and values for the region's transportation system being planned today out to 2050.

The MPO strives to involve everyone in transportation planning. When you choose to provide it, data like zip code, age, ethnicity and gender helps us understand if we are reaching a representative sample of people who call the Alamo Area home.
