[ARCHIVED] Schertz Celebrates National Park & Recreation Month

PRMonth21_logo_stamp_color_410x410Parks are at the center of so many experiences and memories — moments that park and recreation professionals help make happen. Often, local parks are our first experiences in nature, our introduction to a favorite hobby or physical activity and they are places for residents to gather with friends and family. Parks offer spaces to celebrate life’s special moments, spots of respite and healing, sites that connect us with essential community services, and so much more!

Celebrate National Park & Recreation Month with Schertz Parks & Recreation! During the month of July, Schertz Parks and Recreation will be hosting several events and programs for the whole family to enjoy.

During July as temperatures heat up, we invite you to cool off and join us for two Float & Flicks at Pickrell Park Pool. Make sure to arrive early as pool capacity is limited. On July 17 join us for the showing of Lilo & Stitch and on July 24 for a showing of Shark Tale. Refreshments will be available for purchase.

Stryker Tactical Laser Tag is back to celebrate Parks and Recreation Month! Join us at Pickrell Park every Tuesday night in July from 8:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. Tactical Laser Tag is open to all who can properly use the equipment. Registration is $12 per person and is available on CivicRec.

Pop on over and celebrate Parks and Recreation Month with a free popsicle party every Thursday night in July from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. Popsicle Parties will be hosted at various parks throughout the city, courtesy of Schertz Parks and Recreation. Join us July 1 at Ashley Park, July 8 at Cypress Point, July 15 at Heritage Oaks, July 22 at the Community Playscape, and July 29 at Pickrell Park Pool.
