Schertz Parks & Recreation will be holding a Public Meeting on Monday, July 19 to invite residents to share their feedback on the proposed plan to convert the Wendy Swan Memorial Park Pool to a splash pad feature located at 4601 Cherry Tree Drive. The meeting will be held from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. at the North Center, 3501 Morning Drive, Schertz, TX 78108.
City staff has been researching the possibility of converting the Wendy Swan Memorial Park Pool to a splash pad feature utilizing the existing filtration equipment. The residential-sized pool has a limited capacity of 50 people and has had low attendance over the years. City council has cancelled the management contract with the YMCA to staff lifeguards at the pool and are considering using the savings to construct a small splash pad feature in the existing pool footprint. The proposed splash pad feature would be open to the public from March - October and have extended hours versus the traditional summer pool season. The existing restroom facilities were damaged during the winter freeze event but would be repaired and remain open to the public year-round. The existing picnic pavilion at the park would be available for reservation for future splash pad birthday parties. Please join us at the public input meeting to share your thoughts on the proposed plan.
If you are unable to attend the public meeting, questions and feedback can be emailed to email@example.com.
