Alamo Regional Transit (ART) is offering free rides to and from COVid-19 vaccine clinics
How can you schedule a ride?
You can submit your reservation request online by filling in the Book Your Ride electronic form or you can book your ride by phone in three easy steps!
Step No. 1
Residents can call the ART reservation line at 1-866-889-7433, option 1. On the phone call, an agent will get your information, pick-up and drop-off locations, along with your appointment time and approximate return time. Vaccine appointments last approximately 45 minutes to an hour. Rides are first-come, first-served so make sure to call as soon as you know your appointment time. This service is FREE for vaccinations, so be sure to mention that when making your reservation.
Step No. 2
Be ready to meet the ART driver at the agreed pickup location. ART drivers will wait for 10 minutes after arrival. This service is a curb-to-curb service, so the driver will arrive at the curb for pickup from the home. Additional assistance can be provided to those that need help getting to the vehicle, however, drivers cannot pass through the threshold of the home.
Step No. 3
Once you arrive at the vaccine clinic, the driver can assist with getting you safely out of the vehicle and to the doors of the location. After you have completed your appointment, you can call the reservation line again (1-866-889-7433, option 1) to inform them that you are ready to go. You will be given an approximate ETA for your pickup at that time.
*Rides are available for those in the following counties: Atascosa, Bandera, Bexar, Comal, Frio, Gillespie, Guadalupe, Karnes, Kendall, Kerr, McMullen, Medina, and Wilson.
