Patti, a local resident will be teaching on-going quilt as you go lessons for those interested in learning to quilt beginning Tuesday, February 5th and Thursday February 21st. She will teach a block at a time from beginning to end, while each class will build upon the previous class, those interested in getting started are always welcome to attend any time. She will teach the same lesson twice a month, one afternoon and one evening. The supply list will be provided at the first class.

Join veteran publishers and editors, Max Booth III and Lori Michelle, as they lead an 8-month drop-in course on writing an effective short story. The first session will be held Tuesday, April 23rd at 6:30 PM and will go through November 2019. They will teach topics including: characterization, dialogue, how to avoid plot pitfalls, mistakes short story writers make and how to make your story marketable. This program is intended for adults and older teenagers (15+). Please bring a notebook and pen with you to the workshop and note that it is up to the writer how many sessions they wish to attend in the series, but topics will be different each month.

Preschool Storytimes are appropriate for children ages 3-6 years with an accompanying adult. This program is a language-rich experience with books, stories and specially designed activities for children who are getting ready for school. Preschool Storytimes are approximately 25-30 minutes in length.

Baby & Me Storytime is for our youngest library users, those from birth to 24 months with an accompanying adult. Join us for short stories, songs, and lots of fun tickles. The Schertz Library Foundation is once again sponsoring a mini golf fundraiser event inside the library. The mini golf course will be open on Saturday, June 22nd 10 AM-6 PM, and will give residents of our community an opportunity to experience the library in a new exciting way together. This will be a family fun event for all ages! All proceeds from this event will help the library add sound mitigating panels to the library foyer, in an effort to reduce noise and reverberation. For $5.00 per person you get to play the 18 hole course and will receive a hot dog, chips & drink. The library will be closed to regular business during this event.

Grab a blanket and come enjoy a romantic night under the stars featuring live music from Marcy Grace, a local up and coming singer/songwriter. This Texas girl, known for her big and unique voice, has been playing music for most of her life and is a multi-instrumentalist playing drums, guitar, keyboard, and banjo.
This Music in the Park Date Night event will kick-off on Friday, June 21 at 7:00 p.m. at Pickrell Park. Food will be available for purchase from R& J Smokin food truck and Cori Jean Ice Cream cart, but feel free to bring refreshments of your own.
We are excited to have Freetail Brewing Company on site at the event to hand out free craft beer samples. They will also be collecting food donations for New Braunfels Food Bank.
This event is intended for adults only.

Get an amazing view of Mars, Uranus, Orion, the Big Dipper, Andromeda galaxy, and the Pleiades star cluster from our knowledgeable volunteers.
H-E-B Creamy Creations Texas Starry Night Ice Cream was dreamt up for every Texan that loves stargazing! H-E-B will be on site to hand out free samples of this special ice cream flavor.
