Tell Your Life Story

Everyone has a story to tell and no one knows your Story better than You! Your story deserves to be shared and celebrated your way. You are the Subject of this Story, the Main Character, and the Star of this Show! This class is designed to walk you through the process of collecting memories, answering questions, organizing content, and equipping you to create a personalized storybook of your life. You do not have to be a writer or an autobiographer to get this done. Your story is important, so let’s start telling it!

Crafting Your Memoir: From Idea to First Draft

This five-week memoir writing course is designed for adults ages 18 and above. Participants will explore creative ways of crafting a memoir, access writing tools and software, engage in creative exercises, examine the memoirs of other authors, and write for a variety of audiences while developing their own unique voice. Personalized feedback will be given in a safe and supportive environment on your delightful journey to the first draft of your memoir. Memoirists then may volunteer to read excerpts from their memoir for the class and library staff. Workshop facilitator, Andrene Bonner, is a published author of a fiction series about student resilience and literacy, non-fiction books about the parent-student-teacher relationship, and a book of poetry. She is double certified in English Language Arts and Theatre Arts.

Schertz Area Genealogists Meeting

The Schertz Area Genealogy group meets on the 1st Tuesday of every month, except the month of July, at the Schertz Public Library. The meetings are held 630-8 PM in Library Meeting Room 1 with speakers or general discussion about worldwide research. Toddler Storytime

Toddler Storytime is for library users between the ages of 20 months to 3 years with an accompanying adult. We will get moving as we share fingerplays, songs, books, and rhymes. Siblings are welcome to attend. Registration required. Storytime is offered on a rotating schedule. Storytime will be held for 6 weeks then break for 3 weeks.

Preschool Storytime

Preschool Storytimes are appropriate for children ages 3-6 years with an accompanying adult. This program is a language-rich experience with books and songs for children who are getting ready for school. Siblings are welcome to attend. Registration required. Storytime is offered on a rotating schedule. Storytime will be held for 6 weeks then break for 3 weeks.

Teen Tuesdays

All teens, ages 13-18 are welcome to come hang out at the library. Activities vary from week to week - sometimes we game, sometimes we watch movies, sometimes we art... you help decide. Registration required. Weekly Youth Programs are offered on a rotating schedule. Teen Tuesdays will be held for 6 weeks then break for 3 weeks.
